If you were not fortunate enough to attend the 2009 World Tournament, you missed some of the greatest pitching in the history of the sport.
Alan Francis won his 15th World Championship and his 7th consecutive one. He averaged over 90% for the entire tournament, and at one point had
seven consecutive 90% games. The final match with Brian Simmons was a game to be remembered forever. At one point Alan trailed by a score of 37-21.
He pitched 25 of the last 26 for a 40-37 victory. Alan had a total of 126 ringers in 140 shoes for an even 90%. Brian had 125 ringers for 89.3%. This
is believed to be the longest 40 point game in history. The score sheet is posted on the NHPA website. We are all amazed by this performance!
